I
Interim Executive Leadership
When an organisation needs experienced leadership in place, to bridge a transition, lead a transformation or provide capacity at the top, I step in with senior judgement and stay until it holds.
“Execution is the strategy.”
Kvart X turns ambition into action. Executive judgement, organisational leadership, results that hold. In the age of AI, strategy has become more accessible. Execution has not.

The execution gap
The gap is rarely about strategy. It is organisational. It is about leadership, alignment, and the ability to move people and structures in the same direction at the same time.
AI accelerates decision-making and surfaces options faster than ever, but it does not close the organisational gap. That still requires human leadership.
Strategy without execution is aspiration. Kvart X closes the gap.
AI & Execution
Organisations today have access to more analysis, more data and more strategic options than at any point in history. The bottleneck has shifted. It is no longer about knowing what to do. It is about building the organisational capacity, leadership alignment and operational discipline to actually do it, consistently, at scale, under pressure.
Kvart X works at exactly that intersection.
Approach
Kvart X operates on the principles that turn intent into delivery.
Recommendations are only as good as their implementation. We stay until it holds.
Few decisions, clearly owned, visibly progressed.
Sustainable transformation happens through people. Organisational change that bypasses leadership fails. We work at that intersection.
Every recommendation answers to outcomes, not advice.

About
Kristine Ringstad Vartdal is a strategic advisor and experienced executive. She works with leaders, organisations and boards on strategy, execution and transformation, bringing both the experience to lead and the judgement to advise.
Her career spans more than two decades across law, executive leadership and strategic advisory work. She trained and practised as a lawyer at a top-tier Norwegian commercial law firm and in-house at Wilh. Wilhelmsen, before joining NHO, Norway's leading employers' organisation, where she advised and litigated on behalf of businesses of all sizes, from some of Norway's largest companies to small and medium-sized enterprises, across complex employment and labour matters. That legal career, combining advisory work and courtroom experience, sharpened her ability to read risk, construct arguments under pressure and hold a position when it matters.
At NHO she moved from lawyer into executive leadership, building and scaling a cross-functional division from the ground up. As part of NHO's extended executive management for five years, she held progressively broader responsibility across legal services, product and service development, design, technology, marketing, communications and member engagement — driving organisational change, digital transformation and stakeholder management at scale.
Board experience covers more than a decade, spanning family-owned businesses across operational and investment phases, an advisory board role, and an appointed position on the National Appeals Board for Employer Sick Pay Cases. She currently holds a board position in a family-owned company and serves on the board of INSEAD Alumni Association Norway.
She holds a law degree from the University of Oslo and a Certificate in Global Management from INSEAD, completed at their Asia campus in Singapore, with further executive programmes in board leadership, including the IN-BOARD Nordic Academy, a board leadership programme concluding at INSEAD Fontainebleau. She has also completed executive education at NTNU in strategy and leadership, innovation leadership, and marketing and internationalisation, alongside programmes in board competence at BI Norwegian Business School and organisational psychology at the University of Oslo.
Her international profile includes time in Singapore, the United States, Mexico and France.
Kristine works with organisations that need senior leadership at a critical moment, through a complex transition, or when strategic direction needs to translate into results. That is what Kvart X is built around.
